AML/BSA/OFAC Manager

This position can be based in either Portland, Oregon or San Francisco, CA

Azlo is a new fintech company that helps business owners, entrepreneurs, and freelancers pay, get paid, and manage their money. Backed by BBVA, we’re on a mission to transform small business banking. We’re looking for a AML/BSA/OFAC Manager to support critical parts of our customer onboarding and account monitoring operations. Because of the nature of our client base, experience with small businesses and non-US beneficial owners is strongly preferred.

What you'll do

  • Provide day-to-day AML/BSA and OFAC support to the company, including Customer Ops and Risk/Fraud teams, in customer onboarding and monitoring
  • Advise Product and Engineering teams on product features and design
  • Conduct secondary reviews and provide escalation support for due diligence and investigation
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain policies and procedures and control processes
  • Conduct monitoring and testing of BSA/AML controls to ensure effectiveness, and collaborate with colleagues on remediation of issues identified in internal and external reviews
  • Assist with responding to partner bank requests for information, reviews, and other assessments
  • Develop and deliver internal AML/BSA and OFAC compliance training

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years in AML/BSA/OFAC compliance at a fintech company
  • Experience with small business customers at a global financial institution a significant plus
  • Strong knowledge of AML/BSA/OFAC regulations and requirements, and understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the digital finance sector particularly as they relate to AML/BSA, OFAC, and Fraud
  • Knowledge of AML/BSA and OFAC technology/vendors on the market, and experience using data to evaluate their effectiveness
  • Ability to design and build compliance controls and processes
  • Strength in both written and verbal communications within all levels of an organization
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment on multiple concurrent projects where team members are based in multiple locations  
  • CAMS certification a plus
