We’re looking for a Compliance Counsel to support our Product team and other stakeholders to create product features and services that excite our customers while being consistent with applicable legal and compliance requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Work with our Product Team and other stakeholders, including our partner bank and product partners, to develop product features and services from customer UX to employee UI to platform architecture that are creative while consistent with relevant requirements
  • Serve as subject matter expert on legal and compliance requirements for new and emerging products
  • Communicate our legal perspective and compliance practices and priorities to our partners
  • Advise on relevant regulatory and compliance requirements in partner and vendor contracts
  • Monitor, analyze, and inform the company of legal and regulatory developments, enforcement activity, and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain a repository of regulatory and compliance materials, including laws and regulations, regulatory guidance, industry guidance, and internal  summaries and guidelines
  • Assist with developing and delivering internal compliance training

Requirements

  • 5+ years of law firm, in‐house, and/or regulatory agency experience in a role that involved product counseling and small business or consumer financial services regulatory analysis
  • Experience advising on small business or consumer banking issues with demonstrated knowledge of legal requirements related to AML/BSA, OFAC, UDAP, ECOA, and FCRA, as well as data security and privacy issues
  • Adept at writing and editing in a variety of styles to produce quality materials for legal, compliance, and business contexts
  • Strength in both written and verbal communications within all levels of an organization
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment on multiple concurrent projects where team members are based in multiple locations
  • Occasional travel
