Responsibilities: Human resources

  • Administer and educate employees on Azlo’s benefits program for maximum utilization – medical, dental, vision, disability, FSA, 401k, commuter, PTO
  • Manage and administer onboarding process and ensure new employees have a positive experience, from offer to first week
  • Analyze current or missing processes to establish new, effective HR operations, policies and procedures
  • Implement and manage HRIS (BambooHR), ensuring data is accurate, current and confidential
  • Process personnel changes, such as hires, terminations, promotions, manager and title changes, and partner with management to advise on such changes
  • Oversee employee relations, labor issues, and retention tactics
  • Conduct internal investigations and make appropriate recommendations as needed
  • Coordinate employee/staff development and annual mandatory training (i.e. non-harassment training)
  • Maintain and manage personnel files
  • Ensure all procedures comply with state and federal legal regulations and best practices
  • Implement, manage and maintain performance management process
  • Develop and roll out Employee Handbook
  • Coordinate offsites / company events
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase diversity and inclusion within the company
  • Manage recruiting process from job posting to offer stage
  • Post jobs, solicit resumes, and screen candidates
  • Schedule phone interviews and face-to-face interviews at Azlo’s various locations
  • Process background and credit check
  • Coordinate KForce staffing agency efforts and manage/maintain relationship
  • Manage annual VFA Fellow Program

Responsibilities: Payroll

  • Manage bi-weekly disbursement of multi state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, taxes to employees consistent with federal and state laws
  • Ensure employees are paid on time and accurately
  • Consistently review and audit payroll data to ensure information is accurate and compliant
  • Process manual bi-weekly 401(k)administration: perform bi-weekly calculations of deferral changes, calculate contributions and match funding, and ensure funding hits employee accounts timely and accurately
  • Prepare monthly report of Azlo’s payroll and headcount data as required from parent company

Responsibilities: IT & Admin

  • Order laptops and equipment for incoming hires to ensure timely delivery and account setup prior to day one
  • Setup new hire accounts prior to start – including gmail, slack, confluence, BBVA email/ID
  • Order software and equipment for employees as needed (such as: MS office, Adobe, cables, monitors, etc.)
  • Liaison between Azlo and the Simple Workplace team (badges, parking passes, bus passes, office moves, anything related to the PDX office)
  • Manage Verizon business cell phone plan
  • Manage payment of business accounts or recurring charges such as Slack, BambooHR, Hotjar, ClipperDirect, Verizon, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Act as Expensify admin, troubleshoot employee Expensify issues or questions


  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, ideally in a leadership role, plus 1-2 years in ADP payroll administration
  • Interpersonal skills to drive engagement, motivate employees and influence culture
  • Knowledge of local and state labor laws, payroll & tax laws for OR, CA, NY, AL
  • Possess flexibility, drive and willingness to take on non-HR tasks
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation and a deep knowledge of HR functions (compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, performance/talent management, policy creation)
  • Ability to use metrics and analytics to build policies and procedures, and make recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with ability to collaborate with every level of employee across all teams of the organization
